You can now set up automatic text messages to be sent for:-
- Service Booking Confirmations
- Service Booking Reminders
- Service Followup
Settings
To do this, click on the ‘Settings’ button, then System > Text Messaging.
You will then see a section at the bottom called Scheduled SMS Alerts.
How it works
The Service Booking Confirmation SMS will send an automatic text message to the customer at the time a Service Booking is created.
The Service Booking Reminder SMS will send an automatic text message before the vehicle is due in – you can select to send the text message from five days to one day before the vehicle is due in.
The Service Follow-up SMS will send an automatic text message after the vehicle has been collected – you can select to send the text message from one to five days after the vehicle has been collected.
Configuring your text messages
For each of the above scheduled text messages you can select the text message template to be used by selecting from the drop down list.
To create a new text message template click on Add New and select the Service department. Add your content, you can personalise the messages by using the insert fields.
To activate the automatic text messages, ensure the tick box is ticked. For the booking reminder and follow up messages, select the number of days before the message is sent.
Booking confirmation text messages will be sent at the point that the booking is created. Booking Reminder and Service Follow-up messages are sent at 10am.
Service Follow-ups will only be sent to customers who have opted in for SMS Marketing.
In the ‘Notification Email Address for Failed SMS Alerts’ box, type the Email Address that you wish email notifications to be sent to when any automated text messages fail, then click ‘Save Email’.
