You can now set up automatic SMS Service Booking Confirmations and Reminders from within your DragonDMS.
Settings
To do this, click on the ‘Settings’ button, then System > Text Messaging.
You will then see a section at the bottom called ‘Scheduled SMS Alerts’.
How it works
The ‘Service Booking Confirmation SMS’ will send an automatic Service Booking Confirmation SMS to the customer at the time a Service Booking is created.
The ‘Service Booking Reminder SMS’ will send an automatic Service Booking Reminder SMS before the vehicle is due in for the service – you can select to send the reminder SMS anything from five days to one day before the vehicle is due in.
Configuring your message
For the Service Booking Confirmation SMS, you will need to select your relevant Template SMS using the dropdown box – please note, you may wish to create a new Template by clicking ‘Add New’ at the bottom of the ‘Preset SMS Alerts’ list. You then need to ensure that the ‘Auto Send for all Bookings on Creation’ option is ticked.
At the point a Service Booking is made, an automatic SMS is then sent to the customer (where we have a mobile number entered in their record).
For the Service Booking Reminder SMS, again, you will need to select your relevant Template SMS or create a new Template, select the amount of days before the vehicle is due in that you want the SMS to be sent out and ensure the box is ticked.
At 10am on the selected number of days before the vehicle is due in, a reminder SMS will be sent to the customer (where we have a mobile number entered in their record).
In the ‘Notification Email Address for Failed SMS Alerts’ box, type the Email Address that you wish email notifications to be sent to when any automated text messages fail, then click ‘Save Email’.
