MOT Scheduler

The MOT Scheduler feature allows you to easily see available MOT slots and book vehicles in for an MOT.

Setting up MOT bays and slots

Before you can use the MOT Scheduler, you will need to set up your MOT bays and slots within DragonDMS.

Go to Settings > Service > Workshop Loading > MOT Scheduler tab and click on the Add MOT Bay button:

The following screen will then pop up:

Bay NameEnter the name of your bay, i.e. MOT Bay 1

MOT ClassSelect the class of MOT to be carried out in this particular bay

Branch – If you have different branches, you can assign the MOT Bay to the relevant branch. This allows you to control which users can view/book MOT’s for this bay.

Working Week – Select the days that MOTs can be carried out

Once completed, click the Add MOT Slot Button and you will then be able to select the start and end time for MOT Slot and also add a Default Technician if you wish. You will then see a list of your available slots with your new bay.

Booking an MOT

From the Service Module, click on the MOT Scheduler tab and you will be taken to a calendar showing all of your MOT Bays and Slots that you have set up in Settings. Free MOT Slots will show in Green and booked slots will show in Blue.

You can add an MOT directly by double clicking on a free MOT Slot and creating a booking. Double clicking on a booked MOT Slot will take you to the Job Card.

You can also book an MOT from an existing Service or Booking Record. Open the Record and click on Job Items. At the bottom you will see the MOT Scheduler tab. Click on Book Mot Slot and this will take you to the Mot Scheduler Calendar. Double click on the relevant date and time slot to add to the record.

Changing Booked MOT Slots

Booked MOT Slots can be changed, swapped or removed on the MOT Scheduler or from within the Service Booking > Job Items > MOT Scheduler.

Double clicking on a booked slot will give you the following options:

  • Change to a free MOT slot
  • Swap with a booked MOT slot
  • Remove MOT slot from service
  • Open the service record
