MOT labour lines

In version v21, Workshops and Garages that are an approved MOT Test Centre will now see a new MOT labour line in the labour screen when a job is marked as MOT > YES.

This allows the MOT task to be managed like other labour lines, you can easily assign technicians, edit the estimated hours and log technician times on MOT lines.

To make sure your DragonDMS is configured correctly check these settings.

1. Have you set your MOT option correctly?

Go to Settings > Service > Defaults > MOT Option and if you are an approved MOT test centre choose the first option.

2. Make sure you are using the MOT indicator on the invoicing page of the job.

Open the service record, go to Invoicing and choose Yes from the MOT dropdown list. Selecting Yes will automatically create the MOT labour line, it will also set the new MOT due date when the job is invoiced.

3. Check your default MOT price and estimated hours.

These details are stored your service departments, go to Settings > Service > Defaults and double click on your service departments to check the MOT price and MOT std hours (this is the estimated hours that will be applied to the MOT labour line).

The MOT labour line will show in the list to labour lines, but will not be shown on the service invoice, as the pricing and VAT treatment is already applied on the main invoicing screen.
