Mandatory Fields

DragonDMS does not force lots of data to be added when a new record is created, we keep it to the basic like make and model, but you may wish to mark some other fields as mandatory to ensure that staff are putting quality information into your DragonDMS.

You can add Mandatory Fields to Vehicle Sales, Service, Contact and Prospect Records.

Vehicle Sales Records

To add mandatory settings for Vehicle Sales Records go to Settings > Vehicle Sales > Settings > Record Fields > Mandatory Fields.

Select the field that you want from the down list and then choose the point at which you want this field to be mandatory. In the example above, the Agreed Delivery field will only become a required field when a customer has been added to the Vehicle Record.

Service Records

To add mandatory settings for Service Records go to Settings > Service > Settings >  Mandatory Fields.

In the example above, the MOT Due is required to be filled in when you try and print the Service Invoice.

Contact Records

To add mandatory settings for contact records go to Settings > Contacts > Settings > Mandatory Fields. You can then select if the mandatory field is for Contact or Prospect Records. Once this has been chosen, click on New and select the relevant mandatory fields from the list provided.

In this example, Mobile number is required for all contact records when no Organisation name is present.
