Installing the DragonDMS

How to install the DragonDMS, compatible devices and backing up your data.

How to Install DragonDMS

To install the software, you will require an Installation Link and Activation Key.  These will be sent to you when you first join Dragon2000 as part of the set up process.  If you require these details again, please contact our Support Team who can provide this information.

Computer Specifications

DragonDMS is currently supported on Windows 10/11 operating systems running on 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor architectures.

You will need a stable broadband internet connection of at least 1MB download speed.

Please Note – If you have an Apple Mac, it will need to have Windows software installed upon it. We do not currently support DragonDMS running on any ARM-based CPU architecture (including M1 chips in Apple Macs), either directly or via x86 or x64 emulation.

What do I do if I am having problems installing the software?

First of all, check that you have a stable broadband internet connection of at least 1MB download speed.  If the connection is not stable, this may impact the installation process.

Other factors that can have an impact on the installation are:

  • User Account Controls (UAC) – Strict UAC permissions may prevent the DMS from being able to run certain files when installing and/or updating. If your computer has UAC settings applied, you will need to contact your system administrator.
  • Antivirus Software – Antivirus programmes such as McAfee, have a real time scanning feature that can stop the DragonDMS from running updates. If you have antivirus software installed, please check this is not blocking the DragonDMS installation or updates.  Real time scanning can be disabled while you install/update the software. You can also add the Dragon2000 folder (which will be installed onto the C Drive) as an Exception to your Antivirus software.

Do I need to back up the software?

No.  The DragonDMS is automatically backed up and all data is saved straight away.  This means that all users who are logged into the software, will see any updated information straight away!
