Automatic MOT updates

Dragon2000 now have a daily feed from DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) which allows us to update the MOT due date and MOT history on active vehicle records in your Dragon2000 system.

Initial Setup

As part of the initial setup all vehicles in stock, vehicles with a service in progress, and any active current vehicles will be flagged for automatic MOT updates.

Active current vehicles, are vehicles in your system linked to customers where the vehicle has had a transaction within the last 2 years, either a vehicle sales invoice, or service invoice.

The MOT due dates of these vehicles will be compared to the DVSA data and updated to match the data on DVSA.

Daily updates

Each night Dragon2000 will process a feed from DVSA and update any active vehicle records in your system.

MOT due dates and MOT history will be updated on the following records:

  • Vehicles in Stock
  • Vehicles with a Service in Progress

MOT due dates will be updated on

  • Active current vehicle records (omitting vehicles marked as disposed of)

Any vehicles listed in the MOT reminders awaiting customer response, will be marked as resolved and the MOT due date will be updated in the current vehicle record.

Reporting

A log of all vehicle records that have been updated can be viewed by running the DVSA MOT – Updated Vehicles report. This report is listed in the General reports section.

Enter the date range that you wish to report on and click preview.

The report will group the updated vehicle records by record type (Stock Vehicles, Service Records & Current Vehicles).
