Dashboard – Sales Profit

Sales Profit Screen

The Sales Profit screen in the Dashboard can only be viewed by users who have the access right ‘Can view sensitive data’.

The screen defaults to show all vehicle sales for the last 30 days. The date range can be edited by using the date pickers at the top of the screen.

Each sale is broken down into Net profit, profit on any Extras and a Total profit on the sale.

The list below explains how each column of data is calculated.

Selling Price

Selling price of the vehicle
plus RFL, Cherished Transfer and Delivery
minus Additional Discount
Purchase Price: Purchase price of the vehicle
VAT: Margin Vehicles – VAT is the total margin VAT calculated on all sales items in line with single supply rules.

Qualifying Vehicles – VAT is the total VAT on Selling price (as detailed above).

Recon Cost:

Total value of External and Internal costs on the vehicle excluding costs linked to Extras & Warranties.
Net Profit: Calculated by taking the Selling price minus Purchase Price, VAT and Recon Costs.
Finance: Finance commission on the vehicle.
Warranty: Profit on any warranty products (selling price – cost price).
*Extras Categories: Profit on Extra products linked to set Extras Categories (selling price – cost price).
Extras: Profit on Extra products with no Extras Categories (selling price – cost price).
Total Profit: Net Profit plus Profit on Finance, Warranty, and all Extras.

The data on the Sales Profit screen can be exported as a CSV file, just click on the Download CSV button at the bottom right of the screen.

*Extras Categories

To spilt out Extras that are sold on vehicles, you can create Extras Categories.

Go to Settings > Vehicle Sales > Settings > Invoice > Extras Categories and click on New Category.

Give your category a name and click on Save.

To add an Extras Category to a saved Extra, go the main menu of DragonDMS, click on Used or New Vehicles and in the top bar click on Extras.

Double click on a saved extra and select the category from the dropdown list.

Click on Save.

Note: Existing Extras already on vehicle sales records will not have the category applied, only extras added to vehicle sales records going forward.

If you have Extras on sales templates you will need to update the template to include the category on the Extras.
