Auto Logout

How to set up Auto Logout and how to manually log users out of the DragonDMS.

How does Auto Logout work?

The Auto Logout feature will automatically log a user out of the DMS. You have two options to choose from:

  • Auto Logout after ‘X’ hours/minutes of inactivity
  • Auto Logout at a specific time of day

How to set up Auto Logout

Auto Logout can be set up within Settings > System > Employees > Sessions. Tick the box Auto Logout Enabled.

Auto Logout After ‘X’ Hours/Minutes

If you select this option, you will need to specify how many hours and/or minutes of inactivity users will need to have in the DMS before being logged out.

Auto Logout at Specific Time

If you select this option, you will need to specify the time of day you would like all users to be automatically logged out of the DMS.

Click Save to save the changes made.

When a User has been inactive for the specified time period or has reached the logout time set, a message will be displayed and they will automatically be logged out of the DMS.

If the user clicks Cancel, they will not be logged out.

Can a user be made exempt from the Auto Logout settings?

Yes. In settings you can specify for each user if the Auto Logout settings apply.

Go to Settings > System > Employees.  Double click on the relevant employee record and go to Access Rights > Other and tick the setting Exempt from Auto Logout.

If this setting is ticked, the Auto Logout settings will not apply to this user.

How to manually log a user out of the DMS or a Record

If you have access to Settings, you can manually log users out of the DMS.  Go to Settings > System > Employees > Sessions.

The Current Logins tab will display a list of all users who are currently logged in.  Click on the relevant user and and select Logout User.

The user that was logged in will receive a message informing them they will be logged out.

Within Sessions there is also a section for Records in Use. This will show you the records that users are currently in. To remove a user from a record, select the relevant user from the list and click Remove User.

The user will be removed from the record but they will not be logged out of the DMS.

Please note – If your PC has sleep settings applied and the PC goes to sleep before the Auto Logout time specified, the user will NOT be automatically logged out. The DragonDMS will be unable to complete the logout process if the PC is not fully switched on.
