Overview
Within the Used Vehicles Module, click on the Create Vehicle action tab. The Advanced Vehicle Creation took will be displayed.
The Advanced Vehicle Creation tool allows you to:
- Perform a Vehicle Lookup to bring your vehicles into stock with the vehicle data provided by Auto Trader – For each DragonDMS licence that you have, you will receive 100 free lookups per month.
- Carry out Specification Checks using Auto Trader, CAP or Motorspecs
- Carry out Valuation Checks using Auto Trader, CAP or Motorspecs
- Advertise your vehicles to a number of third party advertisers including your Dragon hosted website (if applicable).
To carry out Specification or Valuation checks using CAP or Motorspecs, a subscription to these services is required.
To use Auto Trader to carry out Specification or Valuation checks an additional cost applies. This cost will be debited from your DragonDMS Wallet. If your DragonDMS wallet does not have a balance available, the Auto Trader additional features cannot be used.
Please note, if you do not wish to use the Advanced Vehicle Creation tool you can switch to the Standard Vehicle Creation tool by going to Settings > Vehicle Sales > Defaults > Creation > Vehicle Creation Wizard.
Adding Vehicles into Stock
Enter the Registration and Mileage of the vehicle. Click on Lookup Vehicle to display the Vehicle Details.
You also have the option to Create Manually. This will allow you to enter the vehicle details manually using the drop down options available and a Vehicle Lookup will not be performed.
If you do not wish to use the Auto Trader Specification & Valuation Checks, leave the boxes unticked.
Specification
If you would like to perform a Specification Lookup on the vehicle, click Lookup Spec and select the relevant option.
If you do not want to perform a Specification Lookup at this stage, click Next to skip this step.
Value & Checks
As part of the Vehicle Lookup through Auto Trader the full MOT History is also included showing the date they were carried out, the result, the mileage and the MOT test number. It also gives the details of any advisories and if they were judged to be dangerous.
Dates of ownership changes are also returned and displayed within the vehicle record, along with basic checks showing if the vehicle is an insurance write-off, has been scrapped, stolen or imported/exported.
If you have chosen to include the Adjusted Valuations & Checks then the Valuation and Metric Checks will also be included. The Auto Trader metric rating provides you with an indication of the desirability of the vehicle in local markets.
If you need to complete a Valuation of the vehicle, click Lookup Valuations and select the relevant option or click Next to move on.
Advert Details
The Advert Details allows to you enter the advertising information for the vehicle as part of the vehicle creation process.
If you do not wish to advertise the vehicle at this stage, click on Create Vehicle.
Complete the advert details and select the relevant advertisers.
If the Advertising Description is similar to another vehicle that you already have in stock then you can use the Copy Ad Text From feature. Use the drop down list to select the vehicle and the advertising description will be copied into the record you are creating. This can still be amended if required.
Once all of the information has been entered, click Create Vehicle. You will then have the option to Add Photos or Open Vehicle Record.
